Awareness for Autism is on the rise in Northern Nevada. Ever since Gary Kuhre's incredible stride-for-Autism walk pushing the specially adapted cart across the states, the Stride-4-Autism Foundation has set out to raise money for real families and real needs, families that need assistance and have nowhere to turn.
The costs for such essentials are outrageously expensive, treatment can run up into the thousands extremely quickly, and then there are the incidentals, things that all children need, things that Autistic Kids often never get to experience. It is this mission that propels the Stride-4-Autism Foundation forward. A much needed cause with Autism rates growing and currently at 1:150 children.
In fact, an eBook was commissioned for this very purpose, to help other families and groups in the Autism Community raise money and awareness in their areas and regions. The Autism Community believes that they can make a difference, just like Gary and Lori have with their unbelievable strength and commitment in their new foundation.
Of course, they realize that not everyone is able to duplicate the heroic efforts of Gary Kuhre, in his ultra endurance walk, but we can use this as our inspiration as we plan events and fundraisers of our own. One fundraising event that local Autism non-profits can do to raise awareness and much needed funds is a Bike-a-Thon Fundraiser. They are fun to do, somewhat simple and they always make it into the local newspaper, raising awareness for the cause of Autism.
Here is a free E-Book on how to run a successful Autism Bike-a-Thon Fundraiser for your group:
